Announcing the Inauguration of Our Rwanda Initiative

December 10, 2025

It is with great honor and gratitude that we officially announce the launch of our new initiative under the Youth Education Access and Success (YEAS) program in Rwanda. On October 6th, we welcomed our first cohort of 25 young women, teen mothers under the age of 25, from Rutsiro District into vocational training pathways designed to equip them with skills, confidence, and opportunities for a brighter future.

Through our collaboration with the Amizero Institute of Technology and Hospitality (AMITH) in Kayonza District, the students have begun hands-on training in Culinary Arts and Hairdressing. These two high-demand fields provide meaningful pathways to employment and entrepreneurship. This initiative is more than a training program—it is an investment in dignity, economic empowerment, and renewed hope for young mothers and their families.

We extend our deepest appreciation to each of our valued partners for their unique contributions to this program:

  • Rwanda TVET Board for ensuring quality standards and technical guidance in vocational training.
  • Rutsiro District for championing local engagement and supporting the selection of young mothers who will benefit most from this opportunity.
  • RWARRI (Rwanda Rural Rehabilitation Initiative) for leading on-ground coordination, student support, and community engagement throughout the program.

Your partnership, leadership, and shared commitment have been essential to successfully launching this initiative. Together, we are building pathways that can transform lives and create meaningful change.

As we begin this critical chapter of the YEAS program, we reaffirm our dedication to strengthening collaboration and fostering long-lasting relationships. We look forward to continuing this journey with each of you as we expand access to education, build local capacity, and uplift young women across the district.

Thank you for your trust, support, and partnership. We are excited about the impact we will achieve together.
