Batsinda Leon Scholarship

About the Scholarship

The Batsinda Leon Scholarship honors the life and legacy of Batsinda Leon, a devoted educator who championed access to education for all. Established in his memory, the scholarship supports individuals facing major barriers to education, focusing on young immigrants and offering full scholarships and mentorship to help them pursue their educational goals and thrive in their communities.

Inspired by Leon’s own perseverance—walking 20 kilometers daily to attend school—and his commitment to teaching both children and adults, the scholarship reflects his belief that education is a universal, lifelong right. Through financial support, mentorship, and community advocacy, the Batsinda Leon Scholarship continues his mission to empower learners and break cycles of poverty.
